More people look for pharmacy than medical store or chemist shop.

More people look for grocery store than retail shop or departmental store.

From the above screenshots, you will realise that Bakery, Pharmacy and Grocery Store are the most searched terms for businesses mentioned in the above scenarios. If you continue promoting your business under the names mentioned above, there are chances that it will attract lesser visits via Google as the names won’t be keyword rich.

While you may continue using the firm name in the Google My Business title, it’s advisable that you also append keywords so it appears on relevant Google search results alongwith your firm name. So, an optimized listing would appear something like:

Scenario #1: Bakery in Rohini, Delhi | Hello Dessert Shop
Scenario #2: Pharmacy in Dwarka, Delhi | 24 Hrs Chemists

Added the most searched keyword alongwith location, in the above 3 scenarios. The store names have been put after the keyword because more people will search for “keywords + location” than the firm name.

In the second amendment to the Companies Account Rules, 2014 issued MCA deferred the previous amendments by a year of the notice issued on March 24 just a week after its announcement.
MCA deferred the amendment to the companies using accounting software for managing their accounts requiring accounting software that includes audit trail features.
Now audit trail feature will be mandatory from 1st April 2023 tentatively.

Audit Trail Introduction

On March 24, 2021, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs issued a notification directing companies using accounting software for handling their accounts to choose software that is enabled with an audit trail option. The software must record an audit trail of every transaction that is carried out. This rule comes under the Companies Amendment Rules, 2021, and will come into effect from 1 April 2023. In short, the accounting software must comply with the following:

  • Record an audit trail of every transaction that takes place
  • Create an edit log of each & every change occurring in the books, along with the date and user details
  • It must ensure that the user cannot disable the audit trail

What is an Audit Trail Process?

Audit trails are the manual or electronic records that are saved chronologically to provide support documentation and history that is used to authenticate security and operational actions. These records provide evidence of compliance and operational uprightness. Audit trails can also distinguish areas of non-compliance by providing information for audit investigations. Whether it is for an e-commerce site, business transactions, healthcare activity, or legitimizing the outcome of an election, an audit trail validates actions and outcomes. Audit trail records will contain details that include the date, time, and user information associated with the transaction.

Introducing Audit Trail Inside Marg ERP

In accordance with this new rule, Marg ERP has updated its audit trail feature for users in India. Marg ERP is committed to providing all types of facilities to its customers, as per the policies issued by the government, Marg ERP has made the facility of audit trail available in software, which benefits from April 1, 2023, as you open a new financial year in the software. 

The Law

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) recently issued a notification, Gazette Notification No. GSR 205 (E) dated 24th March 2021 – Amendment to Rule 3(1) of Companies (Accounts) Rules 2014 which seeks to bring a host of reforms and improvements in the way businesses to operate in India.

The following sections of the notification concern small and medium businesses and software providers

  • A provision to Rule 3 (1) of the Companies (Accounts) Rules, 2014 reads,Provided that for the financial year commencing on or after the 1st day of April 2021, every company which uses accounting software for maintaining its books of account, shall only use a software that has a feature for recording audit trail of each and every transaction, creating an edit log of each change made in the books of accounts along with the date when such changes were made and ensuring that the audit trail cannot be disabled.”
  • Point (g) of Companies (Audit and Auditors) Amendment Rules, 2021, which reads as – whether the company has used such accounting software for maintaining its books of account which has the feature of recording Audit Trail (edit log) facility and the same has been operated throughout the year for all transactions recorded in the software and the Audit Trail feature has not been tampered with and the audit trail feature has been preserved by the company as per the statutory requirements for record retention

What Are The Impacts Of Audit Trail?

  • The new rule has an impact on auditors, businesses, and software providers. There are concerns that arise from the operational areas of businesses and there are still unclear remaining details that need to be understood and highlighted.

  • The audit trail aims to discourage fraudulent activities, track, and penalize irrelevant changes in accounting entries. 

  • Although for safe accounting and control perspective, audit trail has existed for a long time inside Marg ERP in the form of a logbook. Now to cope up with the latest amendments, Marg ERP has made the necessary changes in the software & updated it to the latest.

  • The notice mandates implementation of audit trail from 1st of April 2021, which is less than a week from when the notice was issued. Such a rushed implementation can trigger confusion, mistrust, and resistance from businesses. This may increase the cost of compliance and pressure on the accountants’ community if the software is not capable to save audit trail. To make the job easy and for a successful and collaborative implementation of an audit trail in India, Marg ERP is all ready to start from 1st April 2021.

Prerequisites for Integration of ICICI Bank to Marg Software

  1. You would need to have an ICICI Bank account with transactions right facility enabled. If you do not have it enabled, you can request to enable the transaction rights facility to your ICICI Bank branch.
  2. You would need to have an active Marg product license and the most recent updated installer. You can download the most recent installer from here or download from www.margcompusoft.com website’s download section. Your data will stay intact after the installation finishes.
  3. If you do not have an existing ICICI Bank account you can request for a new Zero balance account by clicking on request for a new account and filling up the form. The account would be a lifetime ZERO balance current account if the customer remains active on the transactions from MARG. , ICICI T&C will apply.
  4. You would need to have the RMN and Registered e-mail id and CIB login credentials with you.
  5. ICICI Bank account to register should be configured in Marg bank account’s ledger. To finish the setup process.
  6. Only supervisors are allowed to perform registration on the Marg platform.

Marg ICICI Bank Integration Guide

  1. You need to have an ICICI Bank account with fund transfer facility enabled. In case you do not have it, you can get it enabled through your ICICI Bank Branch.
  2. You need to have the updated Marg Product (counter/Silver/Gold/ERP) which can be downloaded from www.margcompusoft.com or by visiting this link. You can also use free Marg trail period to have an experience of connected banking. We recommend you to take backup of your data before proceeding. Your data will stay intact after the installation finishes.
  3. If you don’t have an existing ICICI Bank account you can request for new lifetime ZERO balance Current Account* through our website. (*T&C apply)
  4. You should also have your ICICI Bank CIB login credentials with you.
  5. Only Marg supervisors are authorized to perform registration through Marg platform.

Registration process for ICICI Bank Integration

All values will be masked with*. You can check show values to see the actual field values. It is implemented as a security measure.

If you face any problem during the registration process, you can Contact Marg dedicated helpline at 011-30969691 or ICICI Bank at (City Code) – 33446699 / (City Code) – 44456000 (e.g. 011-44456000) and press 5 in the IVR

Step 1: Navigate to ‘Online Banking’ tab and select ‘ICICI Bank Registration’.

Step 2: Enter the admin details in the window appeared. The Mobile number and E-mail would be verified with OTP. This will be used later to send an OTP in case of any system change or security related transactions. This may or may not be the same email id and mobile number which you have used while registering with the bank.

Click on ‘Add’ button to register a new bank account. Select the ICICI Bank account number you want to register from the given drop down. Account number will get automatically updated from the Bank account ledger. Only ICICI Bank accounts configured in Bank ledger will appear in the registration list.

In case you want to register a new account with the same Corp-ID/User-ID, you can use the already linked field to select the appropriate Corp-ID/User-ID and then click on Save.

Step 3: Enter your ICICI Bank Corporate internet banking CORPID/Client ID as provided by ICICI Bank.

Step 4: Enter your ICICI Bank Corporate internet banking USER ID as provided by ICICI Bank.

Note (you may recover the user ID/Corp ID by going to ICICI Bank CIB website)

Step 5: Only, the users who have the Server IDs will be permitted to initiate payments.

Step 6: Only, the users who have their Computer IDs will be permitted to initiate payments.

Step 7:

After you have verified all the details, you have to click ‘Agree to Terms and Conditions’ and click on ‘Save and Register’.

Step 8:

In order to complete the process, you have to login to your ICICI Bank internet banking website and navigate to pending on me > connected banking approval > Marg > Approve > confirm.

Step 9: After confirming, you have to wait for 1 hour to make payment, reconcile, check current balance, statement etc within Marg ERP. You can check your registration approval status by clicking on ‘Check Registration Status’ on top right-hand corner of registration window.

We will send you an E-mail/SMS once your registration is approved.

Initiating Online Payments in Marg ERP

Step 1: Click on ‘Online Banking’ shown on the ribbon on the top of the screen.

Step 2: Select ‘Payment’ option from ‘ICICI Banking’

Step 3: After selecting ‘Payment’ option in the screen above, Marg Voucher will appear on your screen, where you have to select the ‘Date’ on which you want to initiate the payment.

  • In case, you select Current date (Today’s Date), the payment will get initiated immediately
  • In case, you select Future date ( Upcoming Dates), the payment will get scheduled for that particular date without any difficulty or delay.

Step 4: Select Name of Party to which you want to pay. The ledger balance will appear next to the party name. Enter Debit or Credit Entry. Then select the ‘Bank Name’ from the dropdown through which you want to pay.

  • In case, you have multiple banks accounts, a pop-up will appear on your screen from which you can select the bank through which you want to make the payment.

Step 5: After selection your Bank, an ‘Online Fund Transfer With ICICI’ window will appear.

  • In the Top most section, you will see your bank details from which the payment will get initiated.
  • In the second section, you will see your Payee bank details which are configured in your ledger. If you don’t have configured the details, it will ask you to configure the details.

*If you are logged in as an ‘Admin’ you can enter the details else not.

*You can also give powers operator wise with which you can change

Payment Mode: By default, IMPS is selected.

You can also choose NEFT/ RTGS/ Own to Own/ ICICI to ICICI.

    • NEFT: Used for NEFT transfer up-to 2 lacs
    • RTGS: Used for RTGS transfers above 2 lacs
    • Own to Own: Used for Fund Transfer between own ICICI bank accounts.
    • ICICI to ICICI: When you want to pay from your ICICI Bank account to your Client’s/Customer’s ICICI Bank account.

Step 6: Click on ‘Initialize’ after selecting your appropriate payment mode. After initializing the payment, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number which is given in Bank.

After entering the OTP, your payment will initiate and you will receive a reference number and you will go back to your ledger window.

*OTP is required for the first time payment only after that you don’t need OTP to make subsequent payments unless you take an exit from your Voucher window.

Online ICICI Bank Account Statement

You Can check your bank account statement by using the Bank statement option.

Step 1: Click on ‘ICICI Banking’ Payment option as shown in the image above

Step 2: A Bank Statement window will appear on your screen. Select Bank for which you want to check the statement from the dropdown shown in the image above.

Step 3: Enter the duration for which you want to get the statement and click ‘Okay’.

Note: Currently you can get the statement for 1 month only. We will increase the duration soon in our next update

You will get the statement as shown in the image above.

  1. You can ‘Filter’ the statement on the basis of amount by clicking on the ‘Filter On’ dropdown option.
  2. You can also search for transaction in statement on the basis of ‘Reference Number’ which you have received while making the payment or the ‘Cheque Number’ and it will appear on the screen.
  3. You can get the information of your current account balance by clicking on ‘Get Balance’.

Overview of Sales Analysis on Google Map

Sales Analysis on Google Map of Marg ERP is a platform through which the distributors can increase their sales by 15-20% by viewing sales of retailers (customers) area wise, date wise and route wise on Google Map through Satellite view.

Along with this, Sales Analysis on Google map enables the distributor to search new customers.

With the help of this feature, the distributor can know which retailers are available in which particular areas.

With satellite view in Marg Software, the distributor can geo location wise view that in which areas sales are made and in which areas the sale is not made and can ask their salesman to reach those retailers.

This would also ensure the salesman to work efficiently as the distributor is keeping a track of the sales made by them through Sales Analysis on Google maps.

Suppose, when a distributor views the Sale Report of Delhi and is happy to see that sales are made in Laxminagar area of Delhi. But the distributor do not have any way to know that in which areas of Laxminagar sales are made. As it might be possible that sales are only made nearby Laxminagar Metro station. Generally, this happens because the salesman take the orders from the nearest or easiest shops only and they don’t try to reach the locations where it is not easy for them to go.If we talk about Laxminagar Area which is quite big and populated and there could be many other such areas where sales are not made.So, a distributor will never want that sale must be only made in limited areas. If a distributor get to know that salesman deals with only a few retailers, then they can ask them that why are they not contacting other retailers of different areas and if the salesman knows that the distributor is monitoring them location wise i.e. in which areas, they are active then they will try to contact more retailers that were previously ignored by them and thereby do more sales.

With Location wise Satellite view sale tracking facility the distributor can view that where people live and in which areas sales are made and in which areas sales can be increased in order to enable growth in the business.

Sales Analysis on Google Map can also be set user wise in Marg ERP Software i.e. set permissions for a particular user to view Sales Analysis on Google Map.

  • In order to search new customers area wise, go to Daily Reports >> Business on Google Map >>Find New Customers.

  • A ‘Find New Customers’ window will appear where the user can set these fields according to the requirement to search new customers.

    • If the user wants to find new customers along with the existing customers, then select ‘With my Customers’ and if the user does not want to find new customers along with the existing customers then select ‘Without my Customers’.
  • Press Enter.
    • Then an alert message will be displayed to in which the user will click on ‘Yes’.
  • So, in this way a map will be displayed in which the user can view the new customers list with satellite view.

  • In order to view Date wise sales then go to Daily Reports >> Business on Google Map >>Date Wise Sales.
  • A ‘Date Wise Sales’ window will appear in which the user will enter the date here i.e. from which date to which date the user wants to view the sales.

  • Now, the user can view those areas on the map in which the sales were made from 1st December to 19th December 2019.

    • The user can click on ‘Satellite’ and see the satellite view of the areas in which sales is made and in which area sales is not made.
  • The user can also see in the satellite view that in these areas people live but sale is not made here.
    • So, in this way the user can view on the map and analyse that in which area sale is made and in which areas sale is not made.
  • The user can increase the sales by viewing and analysing those areas in which sale has not been made.

  • Along with this the user can also view on the left side that the retailers are bifurcated to whom the sales have been made i.e. can view the name of the retailers, their address, sale, mobile number and email address.

  • The user can also apply filter here as per their requirement.

Like, the user can view the home icons and, on that basis, can view the low to high sales. The green home icon indicates high sales and red home icon indicates low sale. And the icon of home in which there’s a star indicates distributor

  • And along with this, if the user hover the mouse in this home icon then can view the details of that particular retailer here.

  • If the user wants, then can click on ‘Clear filter’ to remove the filter
  • After this, the user can also view Heat Map. The user will click on this and wherever the user can see green color on the map it means that in those locations retailers are there. And where the user can view more of red color along with green color that means that on those location there are more retailers. And in the heat map where the user doesn’t see green color that means there is no sale in that area.
  • The user can also view the heat map in satellite view
  • And if the user wants to exit the heat map then click on ‘Heat map’.

    • A ‘Select Company’ window will appear in which the user will select the company of which the sales needs to viewed.
  • If the user wants to select a particular company, then press ‘space bar’ key and select those companies. And if the user wants to select all company then press ‘Asterisk’ key. 
    • Press Enter.
    • Select those items of which the user wants to view the sales and then press enter.
  • Now enter the date i.e. from which date till which date the user wants to view company wise sales.

  • Then an alert message will be displayed to in which the user will click on ‘Yes’.
  • Now, the user can view on the map that from 4th December to 26th December 2019 in these areas sales have been increased or decreased.
  • Like, here the user can view that sales have been increased by which amount.

Suppose, mention 4th December to 27th December 2019.

  • Then an alert message will be displayed in which the user will click on ‘Yes’.
  • Now, the user can view on the map that from 4th December to 27th December 2019 which customers are active and which customers are inactive.
  • Here, in green the user can view the active customers and in grey color the user can view the inactive customers with whom they are not dealing.

  • Go to Daily Reports >> Business on Google Map >> Party GEO Location.
  • Party GEO Location option enables the user to view parties and can see that how much kilometre distance is between the distributor and retailer. And along with this the user can view the latitude and longitude of the party.

The user can only view the latitude and longitude of those parties only on which parties details are already been mentioned and on the basis of these latitude and longitude the user will get the details of the retailer.

So, the user needs to mention the correct latitude and longitude in details of the parties.

  • Now, if the user will press F6 key on that party in which latitude and longitude is mentioned then on the basis of latitude and longitude the software will switch the user to the map.
